Soles4Souls collects new shoes to give relief to the victims of abject suffering and collects used shoes to support micro-business efforts to eradicate poverty.Soles4Souls’ other two divisions, Clothes4Souls and Hope4Souls, provide the same relief and support through clothing and other necessities.
Soles4Souls has a simple concept: we procure shoes and get them to those in need.
In the aftermath of the 2004 tsunami that hit Southeast Asia, Wayne Elsey, the Founder ofSoles4Souls® Inc., felt compelled to do something. Like many of us, he did not know what to do. He was at home one night, watching TV and he saw a picture of a single shoe washing up on the beach. That triggered a few calls to some other executives in the footwear industry and the subsequent donation of a quarter of a million shoes to victims in the devastated countries.
A few months later when Katrina hit, Wayne called the same group of friends, and through our continued support, we have sent over a million pairs of shoes down to the gulf coast communities affected by the hurricane. In all honesty, he admits that he did not expect such an immediate and successful turnout. This left him wondering, why not start a non-profit and do this all the time? One year later, Soles4Souls was formally created.
It has been that simple: changing the world one pair at a time.
Soles4Souls receives large donations from footwear companies, retailers, churches, nonprofit ministries, civic groups, schools, and individuals and saw that this could become a full time organization. That’s why Soles4Souls was created – to facilitate the donations from these groups to the people who desperately need footwear.

Hello – I am the creator and founder of Parent 2 Parent Global. We are also known as No Drama Mammas & Pappas. My new facebook page iswww.facebook.com/nodramafamilies and we welcome you to like the page to link to us. We did so with you today as you are a resource we have been in search of. We have Many families in CT, NJ and NY our chapters (main chapters) that have been affected by Hurricane Sandy. I recently write about your site and your real site on our FB fan page. I am looking for ways to find resources in and around our area that can help our parents with how to aide the children through this tough time. Some have lost homes, others friends. Some are traumatized just by the loss and devastation of others. Mainly the 6 to 10 year old category is the tough zone for the children as they cannot wrap their heads around what happened and why. I was hoping to connect and maybe understand what services you can provide or resources to these families should we connect some to you. Can you help people affected by Hurricane sandy or are you only based and focused in your region? I see your site says otherwise but I figure I should ask. We are a site on FB that caters to parents and families f children EVERYWHERE, not just CT or NY region so we also welcome you to share us with your families so they know we are there too for them. I hope to connect with you and better understand what other resources like you we can turn our families to that inquire. There is much devastation right now around us so organizations such as yours will be key in helping us when it comes to the children.
The story of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37) gives a clear picture of God’s desire for us to help those in desperate need wherever we find them. After describing how the Samaritan rescued a hurting man whom others had passed by, Jesus told His hearers, “Go and do likewise.”
For over 40 years, Samaritan’s Purse has done our utmost to follow Christ’s command by going to the aid of the world’s poor, sick, and suffering. We are an effective means of reaching hurting people in countries around the world with food, medicine, and other assistance in the Name of Jesus Christ. This, in turn, earns us a hearing for the Gospel, the Good News of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
Our emergency relief programs provide desperately needed assistance to victims of natural disaster, war, disease, and famine. As we offer food, water, and temporary shelter, we meet critical needs and give people a chance to rebuild their lives.

This is in response to the message I sent them. I will let you know if we hear anything else from them! ~Mikaela
