We have learned of a family in NY that lost their home to fire and was asking for assistance. We have been waiting to hear back from the Mom to know how many children and what was needed.
Now we have heard back from that family. There are 3 children a baby boy in size 12-18 months. A five year old girl in size 6-7 and a ten year old boy in size 14-16. Age appropriate toys would be welcome as well and where we will start as that’s what we feel is most important for the kiddos. We will continue to keep you updated especially if you want to help.
To help you can either mail us a check at: Heart 4 Children Ministries, 387 S. Fenway Pl., Bartlesville, OK 74006 or you can donate by clicking on this link: http://www.heart4childrenministries.org/?page_id=87
We hope to also be able to help this family for Christmas. More on that later, though. ~The Heart 4 Children Ministries Team
Please join us in praying for those who are still cleaning up from Super Storm Sandy that are now in the path of “Nemo” (the name the Weather Channel has given to the latest Nor’Easter to hit the east coast). Blizzard warnings began at 6 am this morning and continue through til tomorrow afternoon! Thanks ~Mikaela
Shopping in Joplin Walmart with the 25 children and their families that lost everything in the Joplin tornado (August 2011)
Shopping trips for kids who lost their stuff are fun whether we go with them and their families or just go pick out toys and clothes in the sizes that are needed. Katrina Brannon (H4CM Alabama Central & Western Coordinator) is planning another shopping trip to buy stuff for the kiddos who lost their stuff due to Super Storm/Hurricane Sandy. What will she buy? More toys? That is the first thing that we want to be able to give them. Underwear? Socks? Diapers? Baby food? Formula? Guess we’ll have to wait and see the pics she takes after shopping with her helper–her 10-year-old daughter Shayde. Kids are great helpers picking out things for other kids! Katrina said that she received 2 checks totaling $125! Wow that is so awesome! Giving a SHOUT OUT to Judith and Amanda thank you for your big heart for the kids! ~Mikaela
Sharing this from JJ Francais, our Central and Western OK Coordinator:
If you live in the Chickasha area and would like to donate to the victims of Sandy please let me know. Heart 4 Children Ministries, Inc is prepping a package to send to an organization out there. Diapers, formula and infant care items are in desperate need. Call me at (405) 474-5505
I am posting pics that Katrina Brannon, our Alabama Central & Western Coordinator took of the donations that she has either picked up or had delivered. The story is hers to tell, but I am sharing the pics (with her permission of course) because I’m so excited for the Kids that will receive them!!!

THIS JUST IN FROM THE LIGHTHOUSE MISSION!
“Hello Mikaela, we could sure use the help. I was just praying for pampers as the calls are overwhelming and here you are! 🙂 On a side note: can you please keep our kids club in prayer for tomorrow. We serve 100+ homeless children each week from a homeless shelter. We are expecting a huge amount of children tomorrow & I don’t know if we will be able to meet the need & I hate to turn children away… Please join us in prayer. God bless you!!!”
This is in response to the message I sent them. I will let you know if we hear anything else from them! ~Mikaela
Do you want to help the children who survived Hurricane Sandy? Would you like to give to a proven nonprofit who is already set up and on the ground serving the survivors? Heart 4 Children Ministries recommends LIGHTHOUSE MISSION located on Long Island, NY.
They have not stopped serving and were blessed to not lose electric during the monster storm. We have a link to their home page on our About page, their donate button is on the right near the top. You do not have to have a PayPal account to help out, you can just use your credit or debit card. I just did and it’s easy
Below are some of the basic needs for the children who survived Hurricane Sandy. We will ask the LIGHTHOUSE MISSION to use any funds donated by H4CM and our Bananas to be used exclusively for needs for the children. The choice, of course, is theirs on how to use any funds coming in. Biggest needs will be highlighted.
- Baby Wipes
- Baby Food
- Snacks like granola bars
- Non perishable foods that kids would like (ex Spaghettio’s)
- Toothbrushes & toothpaste
Please keep those in prayer that suffered through this devastating and historic storm. Keep up with developments on our website and on our Facebook page: http://facebook.com/heart4childrenministries.org
